3 Facts to Know Me
Part of the User Manual Series where I give some brief overviews of the media, experiences, thoughts that help make me...me. Released hourly on my 32nd birthday.
Crossfit
I'm at a bit of an impasse these days in terms of what fitness goals to focus on. I seem to do a little bit of everything between running, lifting and football.
A few years back my main priority was lifting though. I even competed at a few CrossFit events such as the National Fitness Games in UCD and didn't do too badly. I was part of a small gym group in Clane for a few years there and they put us forward to compete in a couple of events. The days tended to be very long but they were good fun overall.
My absolute peak was a 3 Rep Max deadlift building right up to 220kg. In terms of pure strength, that is always going to be a tough number for me to beat.
I'm not sure if I have much interest in competing in the same way again, especially if these events aren't offering amateur solo entries as often. However, I did always have a great time, so you never know.

El Presidente
I joined the newly created Pokémon society in my first year at university. They had some nice events and I helped out with the recruitment event along with a few other nights out.
For Year 2 I was put forward as President of the Society and we turned it into a cozy little group that met weekly to watch some anime, play some games and eat some pizza (thanks to the very generous budget given to us by the University).
I specifically remember the banned episode night where we watched the episodes with guns, James big tits and the epilepsy-inducing Porygon episode. That was such a strange experience!
It was a great opportunity for me and, while the group didn't explode in popularity, we had some really nice evenings.

Marketing Man
I've had some random marketing experience throughout my career.
I did some terrible photoshop to put the dolphin mascot of my first job into various Irish tourist traps.
My legs feature in the marketing for the gym I used in my teens - I even got a few years of membership for free out of it. I wonder if I could get that put on IMDB as "Foot".
My artwork was featured in the HSE's Health Matters magazine. I had created some nice PowerPoint slides to be used for a conference presentation. After that was shown to a few hundred people live, the editors of the magazine asked to feature a particularly nice graphic alongside an interview with our project lead.
I guess...graphic design is my passion?
