Bride Wars (2009)
We are deep in the trenches of wedding planning and what better way to forget about your own monetary challenges and list of things to do than to watch someone else suffer through a frighteningly more disastrous wedding experience?
Bride Wars is a strange and terrible movie. I understand that it is trying to make light of the stress and high-strung moments that come with wedding planning but the standout feeling from watching this movie was that these are horrible people.
Imagine changing the video that plays when someone walks down the aisle? They get so focused on their little war that it tears apart Anne Hathaway's relationship - and then it tries to portray it as an inevitably, something that was partially his fault for not accepting who she was...I'm sorry, if my partner suddenly started assaulting people, messing with their food and gate-crashing their hen party I think I'd be well within my right to complain about the change in attitude.
And what was the wedding planner doing?! When they double booked the place...why did they continue to plan for both weddings on that day? Girl, you are lucky you didn't get your butt sued!
Sigh This movie is kind of garbage isn't it? Watch don't tell the bride instead, at least the incompetence on display there is more genuine.
