The Deathly Hallows (2026) Audiobook

“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love.”

It is here that we see some of the best that the full cast audiobook has to offer. The music and the emotion that is brought to the final chapters really makes such a difference. Deathly Hallows has such a weight on its shoulders to bring an end to such a long series but I think it does a good job overall - there are some parts I wish were shorter and others I wish were given more time but the biggest compliment I can give it is that it doesn't lose sight of the heart of the series and that it does connect so many threads together by the final chapter.

I'd love for the Gringotts heist to feel more difficult, more like a heist movie than just casting Imperio a handful of times. At times I wanted the story to move a bit quicker, I think it's sometimes a difficult but necessary juxtaposition to have them hiding away in the woods as opposed to the childlike wonder of previous books where they were hanging out at Hogwarts.

The full cast audiobooks as a whole have just been excellent and they've reignited my feelings about the series from my childhood. It's a shame that the authors opinions feel so opposed to the message of these books now and as mentioned before, I've always borrowed these books to avoid financially supporting them. At the very least, I think that the message and attitude about acceptance and love within these books have helped mould me as a person and I will continue to preach that until my dying days.
