Rolls & Rivalries
I picked this up on the premise of it being a D&D themed romance novel which isn't really the case. The cover and title lean a lot into roleplaying whereas the story itself is much more of a band romance than anything else. I felt a little bit tricked by this at times and it left me wondering if, since this is part of a themed trilogy of solo stories, the publisher was pushing for the nerdy themes to remain as much as possible.
At the end of the day, I still enjoy regular YA romance and this had a real "10 things I hate about you" feel to it. The end felt a little rushed in that the big conflict resolved very quickly but overall, it's an easy, enjoyable read that has some nice, cute moments.
