Roofman (2025)
It is absolutely insane that this movie is based on a true story. Even if the truth of the matter is exaggerated, and it honestly doesn't seem to have been, it just boggles the mind that someone could have gotten away with this for as long as Jeffrey Manchester.
I think that almost surrealist aspect to the movie really couples well with the lighter, not quite a comedy approach to the storytelling. Roofman doesn't ask too much of you, it knows that it's not trying to be more than an enjoyable time and it absolutely achieves that.
I very much enjoyed my time with this one and it was a great way to learn about this story which was completely new to me. I also enjoyed that early 2000s aesthetic with Toys 'R' Us playing a major role and really setting the scene of the whole endeavor.
Definitely worth a watch with it's solid cast, zippy script and ever more surprising plot (assuming you're not well versed with the real incident).
